NGRHS Reunion 2005 -
"Positives" and "Needs Improvement"

Positives

The timing of the Reunion was good for several reasons. School has finished up and it is vacation time. It was good for school personnel who have finished the school year but are still around finishing up and even better for custodial staff to have such an event prior to summer cleanup.

Worship Service a most fitting close to the reunion.

The gymnasium set-up for the Coffee House worked out great.

The Coffee House itself was outstanding. The talent and host were fantastic. Big bucks are paid elsewhere to hear that kind of music. It was suggested that another time we should leave a small section in the gym for those who feel like dancing in the middle of the afternoon!!

Parking attendants made a big difference in vehicle accommodation.

The computerized data base - even in its trial stage - made many things easier. It should be a huge advantage in the future - in the number of contacts accumulated, doing the contacting (email), printing information and in providing required information on command.

The Alumni Website Ð should allow us to keep in better contact with Alumni and hopefully entice more former students to become Alumni members.

Basil and his carriage and occupants were a BIG hit in the Canada Day Parade.

Needs Improvement

Lettering for name tags to be made larger.

Have everyone attending pre-pay for events. It will require one less mail-out as well as give us definite numbers for each event (especially the meals). We can offer to refund money for those who pre-pay and find out they cannot make it up to a determined date two to three weeks prior to the reunion.

For meals we should have those with disabilities or special guest of the reunion, seated and served.

Memorabilia needs to be better organized and preserved. We have four years to work at it.

We need to collect more memorabilia between reunions and not wait until a few months prior to.

We also need to get more memorabilia from the mid-sixties to the present.

Someone in the lobby welcoming and giving directions might have been a positive step. If at all possible, have a separate room at the dance venue for people to go to have a chat. Have a plan for line-ups - specifically the Pig Roast at the 2005 Reunion. Have several people who are NOT working at printed information proof-read for errors. When you write it and check it yourself it is human nature to see what is "suppose" to be there - not what is actually there. Others:
